The Hawke's Bay Community Law Centre (HBCLC) provides free access to legal information, advice, assistance, representation and education to the residents of Hawke's Bay who due to their circumstances cannot otherwise access these services.
Our staff are based in our office at Level 3, Tower Building, 215 Railway Road, Hastings. Legal clinics are held every Thursday and Friday at the Community Link in Napier and every second Wednesday at the Central Connect office in Waipukurau. Please see the Contact tab for more information.
If you are seeking general legal information, we encourage you to look at the Community Law website, which contains The Community Law Library. The Community Law Library holds information about many different areas of law that affect New Zealander's every day lives.
If you seek more specific information, we encourage you to contact us, our details can be found on the Contact page.
The HBCLC is one of 24 Community Law Centres throughout New Zealand. We are charitable trust, run by a Board of Trustees. The HBCLC is governed by the Legal Services Act 2011 and all staff must comply with the terms of the Act. Most of our funding comes from the Ministry of Justice, but we are not a Government Department. We also seek funding from other sources.
Donations are gratefully accepted and used for special projects such as purchasing additional equipment and legal resources. Receipts will be issued if required.
